INTRODUCTION It is my privilege to introduce the Neale-Wade Academy’s prospectus. I trust that it gives you a flavour of our vibrant community, the opportunities we offer our students and the success that we all enjoy. We encourage our students to contribute to Academy life and to enjoy its many opportunities. The Academy has a happy and purposeful atmosphere, and there is a real sense of partnership between staff and students based on mutual respect and strong relationships.

The Academy is sponsored by the Active Learning Trust and is delivering a high quality education for the young people of March and Fenland. We are Ofsted rated “Good” .

We fully understand that choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions that you will ever have to make. We hope that information in this prospectus will provide you with a flavour of our Academy. At Neale-Wade Academy we ensure that all students strive for the highest standards and have a wide range of opportunities to learn effectively, both academically and socially.

ASPIRATION We pride ourselves on our happy, confident students who actively participate in their learning process and who welcome challenge. We never set a limit on what each child can achieve. We offer a broad and exciting range of subjects that cater for every interest and ability. We challenge our students and push them to achieve the highest standards. We strive to deliver outstanding teaching and learning and this is supported by high quality enrichment activities. These include cultural and educational visits both at home and abroad. We offer a full range of extra curriculum sessions including sport, drama, music, art, press club and computing. We offer provision before school and there is a thriving after school homework club.

SUPPORT We are a supportive and welcoming school. Our pastoral systems are built upon a nurturing and caring approach to each individual. all students are valued. Our students are listened to, safe and happy. At Neale-Wade Academy, we recognise the vital importance of the form tutors and the Progress Leaders. Each working day starts with tutor period. This enables the tutor to know and understand each child and to nurture and guide them. It is essential that we remove all barriers to educational progress and achievement.

SUPPORT

Our Year Teams are a valued first point of contact for parents and they are led by experienced Progress Leaders who have a clear focus on supporting students to raise achievement.

Our Special Educational Needs team is proactive and support our learners in a nurturing environment whilst promoting inclusion. Our Key Stage 3 nurture group (ACES) students benefit from small group work led by a highly specialised and supportive teaching team. Key Stage 4 students benefit from one to one support in tailored provision and our Alternative Learning Centre provides an excellent development curriculum for those who require additional support.

RESPECT Our students feel valued as individuals and listen to the views of others. They take full responsibility for their actions and value diversity and difference. They support each other in their learning and they show pride in the academy.

We listen to our students, our parents and our community. We encourage feedback and act upon it accordingly.

Our assemblies are built around moral principles and aspiration. They are structured to include our core values and purpose.

EXCELLENCE Our students are our greatest asset. They are ambitious, aspirational and they want to learn and achieve. Our students go on to achieve at high levels in county, regional, national and international sports and are highly successful in a range of professions, careers and vocations. The destinations of our students include the top universities and we are proud of the achievements of our students in both academic, sporting and cultural pursuits.
