- Always use a clean metal or ceramic container; never use a plastic or scratched metal water bowl as it may stain the water with scent and cause aversion to drink it. Use a large bowl; the cat’s whiskers should not touch the sides - Cats are usually attracted to flowing water; try a water fountain for cats. You can also leave the tap left dripping into the clean dish in the kitchen or even bathtub - The water source should be in a quiet place at least two metres away from the litter box. Preferably, the source of water should be on the higher level, for example on the window sill or kitchen desktop
