Electric-propulsion solutions from VETUS

VETUS is an electric-propulsion pioneer, introducing the world’s first electric-propulsion package circa 2000. The VETUS mission in electric propulsion is to create unique plug-and-play systems for new builds and refits that meet or exceed all emission requirements. With VETUS E-DRIVES, you can relax and enjoy nature with confidence that you can spend a full day on the water.

The VETUS E-DRIVES are highly efficient, compact, and complete, with all main components integrated into one package. Designed to make life easy and comfortable, the VETUS systems are simple to install and fast to get up and running – perfect for boats with displacement or semi- displacement hull designs and speeds less than 10 knots.

VETUS E-LINE

Boat builders and customers agree that they prefer VETUS E-DRIVES.

the peak electrical power of the motor is available. This mode switches off automatically after a few minutes.

The VETUS E-LINE range is ideal as a standard shaft-driven inboard diesel engine replacement for both sailboats and powerboats. The compact and efficient 48-V E-LINE package enables silent, environmentally friendly cruising with exceptional maneuvering capabilities. The E-LINE motor is equipped with a smart, water-cooled 48-V controller, developed specially for electric boating, enabling the user to charge the battery bank with a 24-V battery charger. Due to innovative liquid cooling, boaters benefit from the maximum power from the motor and the maximum range from the batteries for a full day on the water without any limitations. The E-LINE is controlled by the ELPS side-mounted control lever, with three propulsion control modes: NORMAL, ECO and POWER. In ECO mode, the maximum power of the E-DRIVE is limited. In POWER mode,

THE VETUS ADVANTAGE

The VETUS 48-V E-POD100 (10 kW) package is designed for simple installation in the vessel’s stern without the need for a shaft or other drive components. Ideal for a sailboat with a saildrive, the E-POD is a compact electric-propulsion system including propeller, pod, and drive, for smooth and silent cruising on vessels up to 36 ft (11 m). With no rotating or vibrating parts on board the boat, the all-in-one VETUS E-POD system operates with no noise. It requires less room inside the boat than other propulsion solutions and gives the owner more space to use for interior living and storage. The specially designed enclosed propeller minimizes cavitation and improves the effective thrust to increase efficiency, ensuring comfortable cruising at low speeds.

The VETUS E-POD and E-LINE systems are the only electric propulsion solutions with “active motor braking.” This provides optimum, delay-free control of the boat, direct movement, and total control. VETUS E-DRIVE solutions can be used in conjunction with a VETUS BOW PRO proportional bow and/or stern thruster and can be supplied as a complete system including thrusters and steering components to fully outfit a vessel. Once the E-LINE or E-POD is installed, the only requirement is to wire in the battery bank as well as the V-CAN control wiring. V-CAN wiring provides reliability and flexibility to install the helm wherever desired, while the small number of components ensures maintenance is minimal.

The site provides boaters and businesses with a valuable resource for easy product ordering, plus relevant and focused information in a less text- heavy format. “The new website represents a genuine progression for our clients and ourselves,” says VETUS Marketing Director Sander Gesink. “It gives us the opportunity to better serve our customer base with an enhanced user experience and more relevant information in one convenient location. We want people to understand that VETUS is a global innovation company within the recreational and light-duty commercial market. The site’s new Service Center allows people to access a broad range of relevant resources, including brochures, product/technical information, videos and imagery, and 3D drawings.
