MAYOR’S MESSAGE
With the arrival of warmer weather, I’m pleased to announce that a variety of recreational opportunities are now available for you and your family to enjoy - with more on the way. While this is great news, please remember that COVID-19 is a fluid situation. Facility closures, program cancellations, changes to capacity limits and altered entry procedures may occur at any time, with little warning as directed by the Province of Ontario and our local health unit, Southwestern Public Health. Your patience and understanding are appreciated. As always, if you feel unwell, please think of others and stay home. Should your symptoms worsen, please get tested. Stay safe, stay healthy and have fun! For the most current information on the spread of COVID-19 in our area, please visit www.tillsonburg.ca/cvu

COVID-19 Waterpark Safety Protocols
• The Board of Health recommends all swimmers take a shower before entering the water. Take your shower at home just prior to coming to the pool, or for your convenience, there is a shower on the pool deck. • Our concession booth will be open. Prepackaged foods and select drinks will be available for purchase. You are welcome to bring your own snacks if you prefer. No alcohol is allowed. • At the end of your time slot a whistle will be blown to indicate the end of the swim. You will be directed to leave at the north gate of the facility.
When you arrive • The pathway directly in front of Lake Lisgar Waterpark is the only entrance to the facility. • All patrons will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon arrival. • After you have checked in with our admission staff you will be directed to the west gate for entry into the Waterpark. • Participants are responsible for maintaining their own physical distance while at the pool. Participants must follow all posted signage. • We encourage you to wear a face mask if you’re able to when not in the water and when you can’t maintain the 2 metre physical distancing requirement.
• Masks will be provided if you do not have one. • To reduce risk of exposure, our change rooms will not be open . Please come ready to swim and treat your visit like a day at the beach. • Washrooms will be available but usage will be limited to one person or family unit at a time. • When not in the water, participants will be required to use the grass area for lounging. • Limited equipment will be available and will be disinfected between use. We encourage you to bring your own equipment if you’d prefer to.
• During weather emergencies patrons who have driven to our facility will be asked to return to their vehicles until the emergency is over. Those who have walked to our facility will be kept safe in the building until the weather emergency ends.
17
Wristband Policy and Pool Admission Standards
*Individuals with serious medical conditions should be accompanied by an individual 12+ years of age who is knowledgeable of their condition and will be responsible for direct supervision.
We use wristbands and a facility swim test to identify young and at-risk swimmers in the pool. To pass the facility swim test, a child must be able to swim two widths of the pool with his or her face in the water. Swimmers must maintain a regular, comfortable breathing pattern and must not stop during the entire distance.
Red Band All children 5 & under MUST be within arm’s reach of a responsible guardian (12 years+) on a 1:2 ratio. Children ages 6-9 who cannot pass the swim test MUST be within arm’s reach of a responsible guardian (12 years+) on a 1:4 ratio. This ratio can be increased to 1:8 if lifejackets are worn.
Yellow Band Children (6-9 years) will receive a yellow band if they would like to attempt to pass the facility swim test. Results of the test will determine whether the child receives a Red or Green band. When a child passes the swim test they will receive a FREE photo card as proof that they have passed. **
Green Band Children (6-9 years) who pass the Swim Admission Test may swim unaccompanied. Children with green bands may be asked to retake the test if staff are concerned that the child cannot demonstrate the ability to maintain the Swim Admission Standard.
18
Passed your swim test? Make sure you get your FREE photo card to prove it! Once you have successfully completed your swim test you’ll gain membership into our exclusive “I Passed The Swim Test!” club. A Customer Service Representative will take your picture and provide you with your membership photo card. Just present the card at each visit (or simply provide your name) and you’ll receive your green band.
**Replacement cards $5.00
