With everyone’s health and safety being a priority of the BVI Government, and in response to the Covid – 19 pandemic, we wish to announce the new protocols for the safe entry of water taxis and small private vessels, who are desirous of entering into the BVI. These protocols provide guidance on ensuring the safe transfers of, not only water taxi operators and guests between the BVI, USVI, Puerto Rico & neighbouring ports, but also secures the safety of the Territory at large.
ONLY FULLY VACCINATED... ...passengers are allowed to be transported into the Territory via water ONLY fully vaccinated passengers are allowed to be transported into the Territory via water taxis, and small private marine vessels. (Water taxis are considered privately-contracted marine vessels, while small private marine vessels are considered private or commercially registered watercraft, specifically under 78 feet in length.) It is important to note that the crew of water taxis must also be fully vaccinated.
RAPID ANTIGEN TESTING... ...is now being administered Rapid Antigen Testing is now being administered at the Road Town Jetty and the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport for ALL vaccinated guests. If a vaccinated person tests positive, they will then be required to submit to an RT PCR test at the jetty or airport, and then be subject to the quarantine protocols for persons who have tested positive in Territory. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated arriving guests continue to be subject to a PCR test on arrival and the usual quarantine protocols.
Passengers and crew entering aboard the above-referenced marine vessels, must clear in at West End Ferry Terminal (or at other approved ports of entry, as the list of such approved ports are being regularly updated). Additionally, they are required to wear appropriate face masks/coverings at the port(s) of entry, and are expected to adhere to all social-distancing protocols. Travellers on water taxis and small vessels are reminded that they MUST comply with the BVI’s Covid-19 entry protocols including: • Proof of Covid-19 travel insurance • Covid-19 rt-PCR testing, or approved rapid antigen testing, for all travellers over the age of 5:

FOREIGN-BASED SMALL VESSELS... ...are prohibited from entering the Territory with paying passengers on board.
Foreign-based small vessels are prohibited from entering the Territory with paying passengers on board. They are also prohibited from conducting commercial activity while in the Territory. Given the heightened risk of Covid-19, unless a vessel is a pre-authorized water taxi operating in accordance with published protocols, a small vessel is not allowed to daytrip to the BVI. A
