A Big Milestone
Let’s Celebrate the Past and Look to the Future
A s we kick off 2019, I’m excited and grateful to be celebrating a pretty big milestone: Wolf Retirement Navigation’s 5-year anniversary! I started WRN because I was sick and tired of seeing hardworking people lose retirement savings because the companies with whom they entrusted their savings didn’t have the proper tools in place to protect them. I decided to put my own name on the sign so I could do things my way, allowing me to support my family and to do right by my clients while continually watching their backs. we have been able to achieve in just five short years. This isn’t something I could have done on my own. There are so many people who helped me make it all possible. I owe a lot to my wife, Danielle. Her strength and belief in me helped me to get out there to run my own business, and it certainly helped us to work together — then and now — to raise our beautiful little girl. I am also incredibly fortunate to have a great staff that knows how to roll with the punches of this industry and are always there when I need them the most. Owning a business in any industry is never easy, and I am very proud of what Investment Advisory Services offered through Retirement Wealth Advisors (RWA), a Registered Investment Advisor. Wolf Retirement Navigation LLC and RWA are not affiliated. Investing involves risk including the potential loss of principal. without our clients. Everything we do centers around the people we serve; we are always analyzing and implementing practices to help with successful and enjoyable retirement living. I always look for opportunities to make my clients’ lives easier, and I am always researching ways to help them achieve their goals. As I neared the five-year milestone, I didn’t just reflect about the past. I have also been putting a lot of thought into the future of WRN. My goal is to be able to celebrate our 10-year anniversary and many more milestones beyond that. To achieve this, I’ve been looking into how I can better invest in the future of WRN and the way we serve our clients. Technology is always changing, and I want my company to be on the cutting edge so we can offer our clients the best. But tools are only as good as the people who use them. Since day one, we have been growing in size. In order to continue providing clients, old and new, with quality service in their retirement planning, I plan to invest in new team members to increase our service levels. Coming out of the holidays, it’s clear that 2019 will be loaded with financial risks. We face the risks of global growth slowing; record-high debt at county, business, and consumer levels; and professional before making any investment decision. increased interest rates. All these occurrences and more are on everyone’s radars this year. Our company will continue to be diligent in working to help protect clients against excessive risks, fees, and taxes. This year, I am also looking for ways to really boost the resources we have for our clients and friends. To do this, we’ll host more educational courses focused on smarter retirement planning. The first of these courses will be the Retirement Success Workshop held at the University of North Florida during the second half of January 2019. So please give us a call if retirement planning is one of your New Year’s resolutions. Thank you to everyone who helped Wolf Retirement Navigation grow to what it is today. I look forward to this year and seeing what 2019 and all the years to follow will bring. documents, knickknacks, and boxes you haven’t touched in years. These will be the easiest to part with and will put you in the right downsizing mindset. Donate Unwanted Items The next category contains items that are no longer valuable to you or your family but may be useful to others. These items can be donated to one of many worthy organizations, such as Goodwill, the Salvation Army, or St. Vincent de Paul. Donations are a way to give back to the less fortunate instead of simply giving or throwing things away. Give Gifts to Loved Ones If you have children, they will undoubtedly want to keep a few cherished mementos and precious possessions. collaboratively, but there should always be some communication before anything is thrown out. Your kids may value certain items more than you ever realized. If you suspect a certain heirloom could be a source of contention, it’s best to hold on to it and make it part of your estate plan. Only Keep the Essentials After completing the first three steps, you should be left with only those items you actually use and those that have the most sentimental value to you. These are the objects worth bringing to your new home.

What Does Diversify Really Mean?
5 Investments for a Diverse Portfolio
Everyone knows you should diversify your portfolio. When you wisely invest across the board, you have some protection if, in one area, your investments go south. Unfortunately, many retirees could suffer a rude awakening when they discover their portfolios aren’t as diverse as they originally thought. A big mistake many people make when trying to diversify their portfolios is to equate different industries with different investment types. For instance, investing in the stock market
better protect your financial future. I view portfolio diversification as having the right unique mix of the following asset classes:
Stocks, which can help your portfolio grow.
Bonds, for stability and income.
Real estate, that provides both a hedge against inflation and a low correlation to stocks — it may rise when stocks fall.
International securities, to provide growth potential and to help maintain buying power in an increasingly globalized economy.
is one of the best ways to grow your portfolio, but it is also the riskiest. In an attempt to mitigate some of this risk, investors often buy shares in different industries — from financial services to health care. They figure this way, if one industry takes it on the chin, their other investments will be able to make up for the loss. But what if the whole market is upside down like we saw in 2008 or 2000-2002? Owning stock across multiple industries doesn’t make a diverse portfolio. You need to have many different types investments performing specific roles in order to help
Cash & money markets, which gives you and your portfolio security and stability.
A diverse portfolio is no guarantee of safety. Each investment comes with some sort of risk, whether it’s volatility, interest rate, inflation, currency, etc. However, true diversification in investing can help mitigate the risks you face while affording your portfolio growth opportunity.

Who’s Ready for Some Powder?
3 of the World’s Greatest Winter Sport Destinations
Tips forYourTripBack inTime
The sound of the first carve through fresh powder is the anthem of all winter sports enthusiasts. Here are three of the world’s best places to experience that powder you’ve been craving all year.
Breckenridge, Colorado John Denver’s anthem “Rocky Mountain High” is about the freedom he felt here. Where there are great mountains, there’s even better snow. The ski resort boasts five peaks, 187 trails, 34 lifts, four terrain parks, and a renowned cross-country trail. After a day on the slopes, head into the town of Breckenridge for dining and activities that ditch the glitz and glamour of Vail or Aspen and take you straight to the heart of fun. Whistler, British Columbia, Canada A destination that looks like a cross between a Nordic paradise and Olympic- level runs, Whistler is filled with true magic, winter activities, and a town
that captivates the senses. When you see the mountains of British Columbia, you’ll understand why they hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics. The location’s beauty is only part of your stimulating experience, because every curve of fresh powder makes your pupils dilate. Once you’re done flying down the hill where Bode Miller took the bronze, head over to the winter wonderland of the old Olympic Village for a cozy night in a picturesque town. St. Anton, Austria If you want a great location for next year’s Christmas card photo, there’s no better place than the Tyrolean Alps. Nestled in a valley between perfectly molded mountains, the Austrian landscape
provides a beautiful backdrop for your winter excursions. The densely wooded areas and the bright reflection of the snow frame the vibrant town that’s just waiting to be explored. When you’re ready for world-class runs, hop in one of the 11 gondolas and zip down the hills that hosted the 2001 Alpine World Ski Championships.
