TRAINEE PROGRAMMES

Management Trainee Programme WITH YUSEN YOU CAN START YOUR CAREER WITH US IN 3 WAYS: 1

During the programme you will be supported with formal on the job training and be matched to a Mentor. The programme is suitable for graduates with a 2:2 degree in Logistics or Business, a full UK driving licence and flexibility regarding location and shifts.

Youwill gainpractical responsibility fromthefirst phase of a 2-year Programme, which will follow the structure: Year 1: Contract Logistics 6 Months - Warehousing Placement 6 Months - Transport Placement

Year 2: Option of the following placements 6 months - International Freight Forwarding 6 months - Healthcare 3 months - Continuous Improvement 3 months - Solution Design 3 months - Supply Chain Solution

We have 42 mentors from across all areas of the business and range from our MD and other Directors, through to First Line Managers , who have been trained as internal mentors. Mentors are formally provided for apprentices, management trainees, interns and Development Centre attendees, but anyone can ask for an internal mentor when extra support is needed.

Our placement programme will provide you with a strong start to your career by gaining practical work experience in a fast-paced logistics business, supporting our projects & operations in key sites. We are looking for customer and quality focused, pro-active team players;keen to learnwithinadynamic environment.

We currently have apprenticeship programmes in the following departments:

All apprentices receive amentor fromthe Yusen Mentor Scheme and some go on to complete further apprenticeships as they continue their professional development.

PAUL EVANS NORTHERN OPERATIONS MANAGER SHARED USER TRANSPORT RESPONSIBLE FOR GLASGOW, WYTHENSHAW AND LEEDS

1985 Joined the British Army at 17 years old where I trained with the Royal Engineers as a Combat Engineer, Boat Operator and Plant Operator Mechanic. 2007 Seconded to support manager in Northampton where Yusen invested in my development. “I moaned about the internal courses at the time, but still refer to these today”. 2021 Northern Operations Manager – Greatest work achievement to date: The transport platforms are now uniform in their structure and processes and more importantly they can communicate with each other.

1992 Worked for transport

2004 Joined NYK as a driver at Telford depot.
