2021 Growing Variable Energy Resources and Grid Reliability

November 16 and 17, 2021

SERC Technical Committees present

2021 Fall Reliability and Security Seminar Growing Variable Energy Resources and Grid Reliability

October 5-6 WebEx

Fall Reliability & Security Seminar

Agenda

SERC is committed to providing training and non-binding guidance to industry stakeholders regarding emerging and revised Reliability Standards. However, compliance depends on a number of factors including the precise language of the Standard, the specific facts and circumstances, and the quality of evidence. Purpose: To inform participants on the impacts of growing variable energy resources in the SERC Region, especially Inverter Based Resources (IBR) on Power Quality and Grid Reliability. Participants will explore best practices and lessons learned from performing various planning studies focused on IBR integration, as well as modeling and planning for growth in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
