TESCO’S DECISION LAST year to take 66,000 packets of garlic bread worth £93,000 off its shelves showed the impact product recalls and withdrawals can have on brand reputation and customer trust. An investigation by Aberdeenshire Council’s Trading Standards discovered that 39 packs of Tesco’s own-brand garlic bread had net weights below the declared weight and legal tolerance.
