MORLEY GLASS & GLAZING DOUBLES PRODUCTION CAPACITY

Recent investments by Morley Glass & Glazing have doubled its production capacity, making it possible to manufacture up to 3000 sealed units with integral blinds inside per week.

The business, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, specialises in manufacturing Uni-Blind® sealed units with ScreenLine® integral blinds inside. It has invested £700,000 in a second IGU production line, which has now been installed at its 50,000 sq ft factory in Leeds. Ian Short, managing director at Morley Glass & Glazing, said: “When we moved into larger premises in 2016 we invested in a 58-metre long automated sealed unit production line from Best Makina. I’m pleased to say that the quality and efficiency of the equipment was so impressive that we were happy to invest in a second line. With the capacity to manufacture up to 3000 sealed units per week we are confident we will be able to continue to meet customer demand for our popular product range.”

Morley Glass has achieved 30% year-on-year growth as demand continues to increase for its Uni-Blind® sealed units with ScreenLine® blinds inside, and this growth is set to continue.

The Uni-Blinds® range provides the widest choice of integral blinds in double and triple glazed units, with all manual, solar and motorised versions available in the industry’s shortest lead-time of 10 days from 11am any Friday.

COMPETITION WINNER CELEBRATES NEW PLANITHERMWINDOWS

An East Sussex woman is treating her two children to a family holiday with the money she’s saved by winning new windows from Saint-Gobain Building Glass. The glass company offered the chance to win up to £10,000 towards the cost of new high-performance windows in a competition to help launch its new Planitherm Network.

Karen Bulmer, a part-time admin officer for the NHS is the first winner of the quarterly prize draw, where Planitherm installers encourage their customers to win back the cost of their windows and installation, up to the value of £10,000. Ms Bulmer spent £3894 on new white uPVC casement windows from Whiteline Manufacturing, which were installed by Heathfield Windows, with Planitherm Energy Standard glass supplied by Glassolutions in Canterbury. She said: “I couldn’t believe I’d won and was waiting for the catch. It took me a while to realise it was true, and that I’d actually be getting my money back. I’d saved for a long time to be able to replace my old draughty windows and now the house is so much warmer, and the windows look great too.” Ms Bulmer is planning to purchase a new boiler and take her children Jack aged 12 and 9-year-old Iris on holiday to Centre Parcs, with the money she’s won. John Vigor from Heathfield Windows said: “This is a superb competition and Ms Bulmer is a genuinely deserving winner. As soon as I heard about the prize draw I emailed the link www.planitherm.com/home/win to all my customers and encouraged them to enter.

customers the choice of glass available and how choosing the right type of glass will have a huge impact on the performance of your windows.” The Planitherm range has been simplified into three options: Energy Standard for maximum energy efficiency; Comfort, which also offers enhanced security, noise reduction and furniture fade protection; and Comfort Plus for all these benefits plus solar control for sunny rooms. Energy Standard is ideal for standard windows in any room, but not ideal for south or west facing rooms with sunny aspects or large glazed areas. Comfort is particularly ideal for bedrooms, for a peaceful night’s sleep, or rooms overlooking busier streets where noise or security are a concern. Comfort Plus is designed for homes with large glazed areas, bi- fold doors, and south and west facing aspects, where overheating may be a concern. A key benefit of the Planitherm Network is the wealth of information on the website and access to sales and marketing tools to help fabricators and installers to start having different conversations with their customers and choose the right glass to meet their changing needs.

“I’m really impressed with the new Planitherm marketing material – it really helps to explain to
