The Newsletter About Your Health And Overall Wellness

“Back Pain Was Limiting My Active Lifestyle, So I Decide To Do Something About It! ” Finding Relief For Your Back Pain Do you suffer from an aching back? Whether it is a short-livedmuscle spasm, or a long-termproblem, your back is telling you something! Your spine is a complex structure made up of bones, muscles, discs, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. It is the hub of your nervous system, where messages to and from your brain travel to different parts of your body. It is so complex, that it takes years for you to master the ability to stand up straight, walk, and run. Pain and inflammation can lead to weakness in the spinal muscles, causing difficulty with everyday activities. Getting up and down from the floor, squatting, standing for long periods of time, and even walking can become a problem. This can really affect your quality of life and the longer the problempersists, the more long-term the effects can become. Quickly Relieve Low Back Pain Most low back pain can easily be treated with physical therapy and without the need for surgery, or prolonged medication. Physical therapy can reduce inflammation, restore proper function, restore normal back strength and prevent future injury. Maintaining and building muscle strength is particularly important to getting you back to doing the things you love to do, without worrying about the pain.

Whether you have back pain, neck pain, or radiating arm/leg pain, we can help. Your spine must be flexible, strong, and healthy in order for you to maintain a pain-free body. We ensure that you’ll achieve the best results for your back/neck pain with the South Toledo Physical Therapy spine program. CERVICAL SPINE Injury in the upper spine can often cause pain and tightness in the neck and shoulders, radiating symptoms into the arms and hands, and headaches. This area contributes greatly to overall body balance and the ability of an individual tomove their head and neck freely. Conditions involving the upper spine often present as limited motion and can contribute to a forward head posture. As a result, this increases strain on the neck which can causemuscle pain and tension and other associated side-effects. THORACIC SPINE Injury to the mid spine can cause limitedmotion andmid-back pain. The mid spine is responsible for the overall stability of the upper body and dysfunction in this area can make upright posture difficult. In addition, limited motion here can also increase the amount of strain on the upper and lower spine. LUMBAR SPINE Injury to the lower spine is amain cause of lowback and radiating leg pain. This is also a common area for disc herniation, which can cause pain, numbness, and tingling into the buttocks, thighs, legs or feet. Limited mobility and/or pain this area can also make turning, bending, and walking very difficult. “ Why Am I Suffering FromBack Pain?” 3 Common SPINE ProblemAreas

Exercise To Strengthen Core

SUPPORT BRIDGES Lay on back with your knees bent and feet hip width apart. Pull your lower abdominals in and roll your pelvis back. Gradually lift your spine one segment at a time until you reach the middle of your back. Pull in your abdominals again and gradually lower each segment back down to the table, starting at the mid back working your way to the base of the spine. Hold for 5 seconds and repeat 10 times.

Helped me regain confidence! “Thank you so much to Aaron and the staff at South Toledo Physical Therapy! After surgery, I lost a lot of strength; both physical and mental. While strengthening my leg, Aaron also helped me regain confidence in what my body is capable of! I ran this morning for the first time in four and a half months! Thanks, Aaron!” - S.R.
