About MERCI

Merci is a magical place located in the heart of the historic Parisian district of Haut-Marais. Founded in 2009 by Bernard and Marie-France Cohen, it is more than a fashion store, more than a concept store, it is a place where people can meet to have a drink or meal at one of the cosy catering facilities while they are shopping for the latest fashion or designer objects for their homes. With Merci, the French word for thank you, Bernard and Marie-France Cohen wanted to express their gratitude to life, to say thanks to all the creative talents that have made their success possible. Therefore, Merci has also offered

a platform to numerous young designers who are looking for a way to introduce their work to the public. After all, success enables generosity. This generosity is yet again reflected in the fact that, from the very beginning, the founders of Merci decided that part of the profits would be used to finance an endowment fund to finance education and development projects in southwestern Madagascar. And with that, their final ‘merci’ goes to all their customers who make this project possible.

SHARING TAPAS AND SMALL DISHES MADE EASY

LA NOUVELLE TABLE

Today, there’s nothing that we love more than to conjure a multitude of tapas and small dishes and share them with family and friends. In answer to this new way of life and to meet these new needs, Merci has created a whole range of dishes, inspired by the

famous ‘American Modern Dinnerware’ by Russel Wright and by the traditional Japanese ‘bento’. The collection is made of sandstone and maple wood, in four different colours, and designed as a puzzle of twelve elements that can be stacked or fitted together at wish.

In 2017 Merci launched its own tableware collection. In close cooperation with Serax, Merci has created a unique tableware collection, one that is inperfect harmonywith current lifestyles: functional andsimple. At the table, everything is shared. In the company of family and friends, we simply love to conjure amultitude of tapas and small dishes which everyone shares and happily picks at. Every day, we prepare quick and varied recipes with products, fresh or frozen, or purchased from the caterer, presenting them in nomadic and adapted accessories to make for a beautiful and attractive tableand tosummon theappetite. Inanswer to this

newwayof lifeand tomeet thesenewneeds,Merci has created awhole rangeof dishes. Designed as a puzzle, the twelve elements of this à la carte collection can be stacked or fitted together. Thus, just when you are composing the menu, you can also design the setting of the table without restrictions, choosing shapes that match the culinary preparations. You could opt for monochrome, combine two colours, or mix them all together. More than enough to vent your creativity and surprise your guests by inventing recipes based on this multitude of little dishes, enhancing the foodandstimulating the tastebuds.

Where the previous tableware collection by Merci, ‘La Nouvelle Table’, embodies a large variety of smaller dishes and plates for sharing food with your dinner guests, the designers now go for the very essence with their MEAL x3 collection. Because a dinner table can go without a knife, fork, dish, or plate. But without a bowl and spoon things

could become complicated. Bowl food is ‘hot’ these days. From Oriental udon dishes through bowls filled with daily fresh seafood and vegetables to the comforting warmth of delicious soup. Or even your daily morning cereals. In short: plenty of opportunities!
