Manager's Message by Enrique Contreras, CCM
Dear Members,
It is hard to believe that Summer is over, and that Fall has arrived. I’d like to take a minute to thank the entire membership for your continued support of the Club. For dining in 104-degree weather, with the smoky air; for supporting our Friday Night Live events and last Sunday’s entertainment with Terry Lawless, with such enthusiasm. We will continue to have live entertainment on Fridays, weather permitting. Chef Corey is working on new fall menus to high- light what is coming into season and to bring warmth and comfort to the cooler season ahead. Our team is also working on preparing the Club’s holiday events, following Public Health Guidance, and we will do what we can to make your 2020 Holidays special. Please save the date of Tuesday October 13th, as we will be hosting our first virtual wine tasting from 5:00 to 6:30pm. You can enjoy this experience from the comfort of your home, with Master Sommelier, Fred Dame from Dao Winery. We ask you to please make your reservation for this special event! As you may have noticed, we have begun some new practices in the Golf Shop. We are asking all golfers to check in at the golf shop, whether you are walking or riding in a golf cart. For those golfers using one of the Club’s carts, keys need to be picked up in the Golf Shop, to help with the monitoring and better maintenance of our golf carts.
Tom and his team are doing an excellent job of maintai- ning and making improvements to the golf course. We ask that you please help them by fixing your divots/ball marks and respecting the course’s stakes/signs. We are heating the Tennis Pavilion pool a little earlier this year for the benefit of our lap swimmers and so we can continue with aquatic classes – these classes have been very popular with our members. We have also changed up our fitness class schedule; please check the schedule for new class information. It is that time of the year that we need members to volunteer to participate in our different Club committees and existing eligible committee members to consider running for election to the Board of Governors. If you would like more information on committee invol- vement or are interested in being a Board of Governors candidate, please contact Eryn Urban at 661-664-6418 or [email protected] . Again, thank you for all of your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call or email me at 661-664-6254 or [email protected] .
See you at the Club!

Meet Me at the Museum by Anne Youngson
Meet Me at the Museum is a touching, hopeful story about figuring out what matters and mustering the courage to make necessary changes. Dissatisfied farmer's wife Tina Hapgood and lonely museum curator Anders Larsen initially connect over a shared fascination with the miraculous Iron Age archaeological find known as the Tollund Man, but their relationship soon deepens as they begin to excavate their own chosen life paths in a series of letters. Our next meeting is October 22 nd at 5:00 pm ~ via ZOOM~ Please email Bee Barmann @ [email protected] to receive information on joining the meeting.

Fitness Class Descriptions
All classes are held outdoors. Social distancing rules are enforced. Mats are provided, but we encourage members to bring their own. Metabolic Conditioning This class is designed to burn fat, build muscle, and tone and strengthen the body by using timed work and rest periods. The combination of strength and cardio exercises will maximize calorie burn during and after the workout; improve lean muscle mass; improve metabolism; and improve overall physical health in a short amount of time. All fitness levels are welcome as modifications and challenges are available. Strength Training A 45-minute circuit based full body strength class devoted to increasing your total body strength, improving the firmness and tone of your muscles, and creating a healthier, leaner body. The class is chal- lenging yet suitable for all fitness levels. Modifications made for those who need them. Total Body Conditioning This type of workout alternates between short bursts of intense exercise followed by short recovery breaks. Strength training, body weight exercises, core exerci- ses, and some cardio will be included. A variety of trai- ning styles and equipment will be used to deliver an efficient, fun workout. Aqua Fitness This class uses water resistance to develop muscle tone, core strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, and general well-being. The water exercises are easy on the joints while providing a stimulating workout. Pool props such as pool noodles, water resistance dumb bells, and kickboards are used. Stroke Technique and Conditioning This class is for beginning, intermediate, and advan- ced level adult swimmers wanting to improve their technique and fitness. Classes are not swimming lessons. This class offers stroke refinement and physical conditioning to build strength and stamina. Abs & Glutes This 30-minute class focuses on sculpting and toning the gluteal and abdominal muscles. This focus on the lower body is important to strengthen these often- weak areas, partially due to the time we spend sitting
at the computer. Using body weight exercises, we’ll target these areas through repetitive and endurance strength movements. Mat Pilates Pilates exercises performed on the mat are designed topromote core stability, flexibility, endurance, postural and body awareness, and to correct muscle imbalances. Pilatesbuildsmind/bodyawarenessthrough breath work, concentration on movement control and precision. Zumba Fitness (Begins October 7th & 9th) Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Routines in- corporate interval training -- alternating fast and slow rhythms -- to help improve cardiovascular fitness while targeting your legs, abs, glutes and arms. You might forget you are working out with the fun dance music like Cha Cha, Salsa, reggaeton, rumba and more. You do not need any previous dance experience. The work- out is watch and follow. Do you prefer to work out on your own? Take advantage of our OUTDOOR GYM
at Grand Island Tuesday - Saturday 5am-10am
Equipment includes weight benches, dumbbells, bands, ropes, stability balls, jump ropes and kettlebells
