The Program Committee has lined up great educational sessions for you this year and Hotel and Hospitality are planning wonderful fun and eats for you, including a Moonlight Masquerade for Thursday dinner. So, start planning your costume now as there will be prizes for the winners. The rest of the Institute Committee is getting together all the information and extras you’ll need for a fantastic event. We hope you can join us in October for some of the best weather Texas has to offer. Don’t forget to bring a light jacket since classrooms can be cold. Additionally, we would like to thank great sponsors that have supported NADOA year after year including Steve Smith and Legacy Royalties, Russell T. Rudy, Steptoe-Johnson, and all your companies that continue to support our organization. And a BIG thank you to all the NADOA members who put in personal time and volunteer for our organization: board and committee members, the quarterly magazine, event speakers, and mentors - we couldn’t do all of this without you. If you haven’t already volunteered any time to NADOA, you should get involved. See you in October! Stephanie D. Moore, CDOA Armando Lopez

G rowth T hrough E ducat i on - S pe c i al I ns t i tut e E d i t i on 2022
the second largest city in Texas and home to great food, fabulous art and the 2022 Institute! Don’t let its size deter you. It is also one of the easiest to get around in, too. Take your pick: Most of what the city has to offer is within walking distance of the hotel, but bicycles and scooters are available for rent as well at SWellCycle. How fun is that since Institute is going to be in late October when we finally cool off in Texas! The city has a fabulous system of buses and for less than $3.00 you can get an all- day pass and hop on and off as you wish. Go to Via and find a great trip planner, route maps and timetables. Last but not least, you don’t want to come all the way to San Antonio and not take their famous river barge tour with Go Rio River Cruises. There are multiple ways to get from the airport to the hotel also. If you want to rent a car there is no shortage of Rental Cars at the airport. You can take a taxi for between $24 and $29 or use Uber or Lyft. However, by far the least expensive and easiest way to get from the airport to the hotel is the airport shuttle service called Super Shuttle, which is $15 per person one-way. Go to Super Shuttle for more information on taking advantage of this (very cheap) service. Getting around San Antonio can be summed up in one place and that is Visit San Antonio! This is the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau website and it is information overload on what to do and see in this great city. If you want to coordinate all your choices in one app, download the “Migo-Find and Book your Ride” app from your App Store.
But first, let’s get you to Institute! We’ve already mentioned tracking airfares on the Hopper app and if you haven’t tried it, start now. Your best fares are out there waiting! But there are a few other great places to find discounts on airfare, too. If you or your company have a Capital One credit card, look into Capital One Shopping travel deals. Also try Google Flights for finding great fares. If you are driving to Institute, parking at the hotel is $37 self park and $43 valet parking. The Bowie Street Parking Lot or the Rivercenter Garage are also very close to the hotel and they are $18-$23/day. Whether you fly or drive, you are going to love all the sights and sounds of San Antonio and find easy access to all of them while getting a great education. See you there!
