INTRODUCTION – MRG

The Management Recruitment Group (MRG) are a specialist Consultancy who provide recruitment solutions predominantly across the living asset market, covering a variety of service lines and specialist sectors. Operating nationally, MRG have completed assignments and recruitment campaigns across every corner of the United Kingdom for operators, investors, developers and property companies from Europe, Asia and North America. MRG have two operating models; retained strategic search assignments and complex/volume driven recruitment campaigns. MRG’s approach is to work exceptionally closely with its clients, not only to transact, but to develop a deeprooted understanding of their culture, style, and drivers. In 2020, 87% of MRG’s assignments were with existing clients on a repeat basis, which is likely to increase further in 2021.

BRIEF: to provide ongoing recruitment for Operations Manager roles on a rolling annual basis.

INNOVATION: We worked with Student Roost to design an engaging infographic which replaced wordy person specifications. We also allocated a branded LinkedIn advert for all campaigns free of charge.

CASE STUDY – SENIOR

BRIEF: to restructure the leadership team of Senior-Living Developer, Castleoak. MRG were initially engaged by Castleoak to appoint a new Managing Director – Development, with a desire to redefine the operating model and the strategic direction of the Development division. The change in leadership was aimed at introducing new and different skill sets with the dynamism and mental agility to affect positive change, creating much improved profit margins.

CASE STUDY - CO-LIVING

MANAGING DIRECTOR – CO LIVING AND STUDENT ACCOMMODATION FAMILY OFFICE

BRIEF: An innovative real estate investment and development family office with a number of assets across London and the South East, the SAV senior team were seeking a Managing Director to set up and lead their Property Management division in Student Accommodation and the PRS Sector, creating an operational platform which will enable them to maximise return with a more customer centric approach. APPROACH: Given the nature of this appointment, the role was managed confidentially. MRG identified a number of professionals operating at a suitable level and directly engaged with them to present this exciting opportunity.

THE SHORTLIST: 10 individuals were presented. The individuals covered a range of backgrounds including co- living, student accommodation, retirement, PRS and Property Management.

Hayley is a Business Director and joined MRG in 2015, working across Higher Education and Student housing. She is now responsible for our Living Assets Business Unit. Hayley has experience working with a number of organisations to make key leadership and operational appointments.

Matthew is a Board Director and heads up the UK Real Estate team in London and our global provision. He has successfully completed a number of board level and executive campaigns across the property sector. Matthew is a trained expert in the use of Thomas International, and their Psychometric Assessment Tools.

James specialises in permanent and interim solutions across Co-living and Build to Rent . He has completed a number of mid – senior leadership mandates across the UK and Ireland. He has been successful at transferring candidates from the retail and hospitality sector into the living sector. James has over eight years recruitment experience and brings a wealth of knowledge.
