Dreaming Big EXPLORING THE VALUE IN CHASING YOUR DREAMS

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.” – Martin Luther King Jr. Fifty-nine years ago, on Aug. 28, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his powerful and famous “I Have a Dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. In front of 250,000 people, he spoke after a long day of marching and speeches about unemployment, federal legislation, and social and racial justice. The speech touched hearts and moved many, and Martin Luther King Jr. was a testament to the strength and power of one man and his goals for an entire society. Martin Luther King Jr.’s aspirations became a transformative moment in history. His bravery, determination, and perseverance were an example for us all on the importance of having dreams and working tirelessly to accomplish them. Dreams motivate us. Despite the other things going on in the world around us, our aspirations motivate us to continue to push forward. Having a reason to continue to try, persevere, and strive for our dreams is sometimes the motivation to get out of bed in the morning, or to get back up after falling down. For many of us, dreams are our “why” and get us through some of our toughest, most challenging days. Dreams teach us about failure and determination.

our dreams requires us to roll with the punches and never lose sight of our aspirations. This journey tests our strength and transforms us into powerful and influential individuals. Dreams create happiness and fulfillment. Chasing after our dreams teaches us the value of embracing what we love. One old adage asserts that it’s important to love what you do and do what you love, and sometimes, the only true way to achieve that is by going after your greatest aspirations. Achieving a goal elicits a strong sense of accomplishment, pride, happiness, and fulfillment that otherwise would not be possible. Chasing dreams breeds happiness. Here at Malloy Law Offices, we have a dream to help our community in the local DMV area. Every day, we come to work ready to tackle a variety of cases and claims for our clients. Many times, our clients are going through some of the most difficult and challenging times in their lives, and our goal is to be a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen, and the difference they need to overcome this rough patch and receive the compensation they are entitled to. We are committed to making a difference and helping our clients reach their full potential and goals through great personalized service, hard work, and strong legal knowledge.

When we set goals for ourselves, sometimes, it may take 10 times before we get it right, and that means we must learn about failing, regrouping, and trying again. Chasing

The only thing better than a day spent at the amusement park, riding all of the rides, enjoying the attractions, and munching on some delicious snacks is leaving the park without any injuries. When most of us head out for a day at an amusement park, the thought of potentially getting injured doesn’t cross our minds, but the risk is certainly there! In 2016, more than 30,000 amusement park guests visited the emergency room due to injuries resulting from attractions at amusement parks, and many of these people were young children. Some of the most common types of amusement park injuries include: What to Do After an Am

Golf is an enjoyable sport anyone can participate in regardless of experience, ability, and age. There’s nothing quite like teeing off on the first hole after a difficult week of work. Though it can certainly be frustrating at times, golf is a fun sport with many amazing perks. Reading the following benefits will make you want to head to your local course, even if you’re not a regular golfer. It’s great exercise. Playing a full 18 holes of golf can be exhausting and for good reason. Swinging a golf club works your forearms, core, shoulders, and back muscles. If you choose to walk the course, you’ll be getting in a great workout as the average course length is about 4 miles. You can also carry your golf bag for an even better workout. It builds character. It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned golfer or on the course for the first time, you are not going to have a perfect round. You may miss a putt or end up in the sand trap, but you decide how you react to the situation. You can get mad and potentially play worse or understand that everything is not always going to work out in golf. That lesson can even be applied to your everyday life. It’ll draw you outside. Most of us can use some additional time outdoors, and golf provides the perfect opportunity. Between rolling hills, picturesque ponds, and lush trees, the golf course is a beautiful setting. Even if you’re playing poorly, you can still enjoy being outside for a few hours out of your day. It’s fun for the entire family. Golf isn’t just for businessmen. Anyone can find enjoyment in the game. It can be a great weekend activity for the entire family or the perfect bonding experience between relatives. There are par 3 courses across the country that offer an easier experience for new golfers, and you can always play nine holes instead of 18 to cut down on time and conserve energy.

maintain a level of safety while you are walking, standing, and sitting in all areas of the park. Most amusement parks have strong insurance coverage with premises liability to cover everything from their sidewalks to their rides and everything in between, thus if you are ever injured in a theme park, it’s important to report the injury or problem to the ride operator and park manager immediately, document your injury and any ride defects with photographs, gather witness statements and medical reports, and keep records of any time lost at work. musement Park Injury

to show gratitude. Things happen to us every day that we should be grateful for. If you’re struggling to acknowledge your blessings, keep a gratitude journal and write a few things you are thankful for each day. Over time, that thought process will seep into your daily life. Surround yourself with positive people. The people we associate with play a huge role in our mental well-being. If you’re constantly around people who put you down or tell you that you can’t accomplish certain things, you will feel worse about yourself

— or even believe them. You need to block the negative people from your life and surround yourself with those who think optimistically.

Establishing a positive mindset in today’s world may be difficult, but it is not impossible if you develop a strategy and follow through with it.

School Bus Safety Reminders

BACK TO SCHOOL

School Bus Safety for Pedestrians and Drivers

School Bus Safety for Drivers • Near schools, obey all signals from school crossing guards. • Always be on the lookout for school zones and pay special attention to lower speed limits. • Near schools, school buses, bus stops, and school parking lots, be aware of your surroundings. • Remember that children riding bicycles may suddenly change directions, fall, or be unpredictable. Always drive with caution. • When picking up and dropping off students on school property, only drive your car in authorized areas. • Stop for school buses that have stopped and have the STOP arms extended and red lights flashing. • On a two-way street, all drivers heading in both directions must stop for a school bus with a stop signal. • On a highway divided by a paved median, drivers heading in both directions must stop for a school bus with a stop signal. School Bus Safety for Pedestrians • When waiting at the bus stop for your children or with your children, be sure to stand in a safe place away from the road. • While walking on sidewalks or grass near school bus stops, avoid texting. • Before crossing the street, always look both ways for oncoming traffic and school buses. • When crossing the road near a school, obey school crossing guards.

It’s here — back-to-school season has arrived. If you’re a parent, you may be ambivalent about sending your kids back to school. On the one hand, it’s nice to not have to worry about them at home, camp, or day care during school hours. But on the other hand, it’s a little sad that summer is coming to a close and vacation trips and summer activities and adventures are winding down. As school swiftly approaches, bring on the back-to-school shopping, early mornings with the kids, and chasing them down to get their homework done. But, one thing to keep in mind — whether or not you

have children of your own — is that starting on the first day of school, school buses will begin their normal routes for the school year.

According to the National Safety Council, in 2020, 54 people lost their lives as a result of school bus-related accidents. As school buses carry and transport our youth and are extremely large

vehicles, it’s very important that we, as pedestrians and drivers, stay alert on the roads and brush up on school

bus protocols and safety tips.
