VENDOR OPERATING CONDITIONS & GUIDELINES

Welcome to Country, Orientation Week, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Hobart.

We acknowledge the palawa/pakana people of lutruwita/Tasmania and Gadigal people of Sydney, the traditional owners of the land upon which we live and work. We pay respects to Elders past and present as the knowledge holders and sharers. We honour their strong culture and knowledges as vital to the self-determination, wellbeing and resilience of their communities. We stand for a future that profoundly respects and acknowledges Aboriginal perspectives, culture, language and history.

Welcome

Welcome to your Student Living community; your home away from home.

Student Living is a vibrant student community that provides you with the right environment to succeed academically and to grow as a person. It is a place where you will feel safe; where our residents look out for each other; and where you can engage in enriching activities that contribute to the social fabric of your student living community. Our teamwill help you to reach your goals and to engage and connect meaningfully both within the university and the wider Tasmanian community.

You will be known, valued and supported by our Student Living Team. We encourage our residents to explore new ideas, cultures, and perspectives. You will benefit from the positive relationships that you’ll develop with your fellow residents and Student Living staff. We look forward to working with you to build a welcoming, caring and respectful home that celebrates the diversity of our student resident community, fostering continual growth for a positive future.

STUDENT LIVING PRINCIPLES

At Student Living, our work is guided by three core principles:

1 Safety

2 Inclusion

3 Respect Our student residents are valued partners at the centre of our community. We work together to build a welcoming, caring and respectful home that celebrates the diversity of our student resident community, fostering continual growth for a positive future.

The safety of our residents is our first priority. We provide physically safe spaces and a culture of personal safety. Our staff provide support and appropriate referral. Our student residents receive clear messaging, training and reinforcement on all aspects of their physical and personal safety.

Student residents belong to a community where they are known, valued, and supported. Our student residents are encouraged to contribute to and access opportunities that build connections, extend their capabilities and enhance their academic success and future readiness.
