Yet many of the things we do with our hands are done without any deliberate thought. Your hands have no fear. They’ll go anyplace they’re sent, and they only act as wisely as the person they belong to; so before you use your hands think of their safekeeping.

These injuries often occur from careless use of machinery, tools, or handling products bare handed. Hands and fingers can get caught, pinched, or crushed between stone, chains, wheels, rollers, or gears. Hands can puncture or get cut by spiked or jagged tools and edges that shear or chop. Be sure to wear protective gloves while handling products and tools. Steel banding and wire is also a common cause of lacerations for associates. If you are handling steel banding, always wear Kevlar type cut-resistant gloves to protect your hands. In addition to wearing the appropriate gloves, safety precautions should include using shields, guards, or safety locks; handling knives or tools with care; and keeping hands, jewelry, and clothing away from moving parts. Chemical Exposure Injuries These injuries result from contact with solvents, acids, cleaning solutions, flammable liquids and other substances that can cause burns or injure tissue. To protect against these injuries, read the product labels, use the right gloves, and wash hands frequently.

NEWACQUISITION - DIRT AND ROCK, LLC

WE’RE EXCITED TO ADD OUR FIRST STONE CENTER IN EASTERN ATLANTA

CLEAR DIRECTION LEADS TO IMPROVED SAFETY AND A BETTER CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

We are excited to announce that Dirt and Rock, LLC has joined SiteOne®. Dirt and Rock is a leading provider of hardscapes, natural stone and landscape supplies with one location in the Lake Oconee, Georgia market just east of Atlanta. The addition of Dirt and Rock gives us our first dedicated stone center to serve the eastern Atlanta and Lake Oconee area, complimenting our prior acquisitions of Stone Forest and Alliance Stone with locations in the northern part of Atlanta.

One of the best ways to maintain a functional yard is by having clear, direct signage. Helping customers understand the traffic flow, safety signage and where materials are located is critical before Spring. Walk your yard as your customers do, replace any faded or old signs, add new ones that would improve the experience and safety for all. You can find a variety of signs for this purpose on the SiteOne Sign Portal. You can access the SiteOne Sign Portal from the SiteOne Intranet. If you have questions or need assistance, contact [email protected] .

“I knew from my initial visit that Dirt and Rock was a great business. Even more importantly as I was able to spend time with Bryan and his leadership team, it became apparent that it was a great fit culturally. This gives us a great location in the Lake Oconee area, but more importantly Dirt and Rock adds a ton of talent that will help us continue to buildout our hardscapes business across the Southeast.”

Bryan Carroll began his entrepreneurial journey following his wife back to her hometown in Lake Oconee, GA, and driving a dump truck for his father-in-law’s trucking and soil operation. Bryan purchased the business and slowly began adding additional product lines. As the Reynolds Lake Oconee resort area began to grow, Bryan developed relationships with the major developers in the area and became their preferred source for hardscapes, natural stone and landscape supplies. Through this hard work and best-in-class customer service, Bryan and his associates have built Dirt and Rock into one of the premier distributors in the Southeast.

TREND ALERT - PREDICTIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA

MOBILE PRO RECENT UPDATES

As we all know, COVID-19 impacted the economy in ways we never would expect. Fortunately for SiteOne, many of these impacts were positive. Looking back at the trends of 2020, we know that homeowners took on more projects than in previous years simply due to the fact that they are now home more and see a need to complete projects or make changes to accommodate daily life. This is not a trend we see changing very much in Q1 and according to our supplier partner, Belgard, here are some trends we can expect to see:

CONSISTENT CHANGES MAKE MOBILEPRO EVEN BETTER

For technology to function well, it must be updated consistently. We’re excited to share that the MobilePRO app is now supported by the IT Department. This change will allow performance issues to be tracked better which will lead to more successful updates in the future. If you have issues or you are in need of MobilePRO equipment, you can make all requests through ServiceNow . Many updates have already taken place and you can see those in the chart below.

SPRINGTRENDPREDICTIONS2021:

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Large scale outdoor projects are the new norm in residential spaces. There’s a new shift from an entertainment focus to daily, outdoor living. Fully functional Microspaces are on the rise, especially in large cities with small spaces. Technology Integration is important. Neutral tones with pops of color will continue to be popular. Clean and simple lines in hardscape design will continue to be popular.

“The most recent enhancements to MobilePro have been terrific. We are able to walk with our customers and sell the entire job from the yard.

It is an excellent fit for all our IN-Stock items.” Chad Payton - Branch Manager, Addison, IL

RECENTLY RELEASED UPDATES:

To stay on top of trends, you need to be where your customers are. Looking at this chart by HomeAdvisor, two generations led the way in home improvement projects overall: GenZ and Millennials. Knowing this, it is important that you are educating yourself on trends in the same way they are. Here are some things you can do to understand your customers better: STAYALERTTHISSPRINGANDBEYOND
