Our SLAD & THAD female colleagues gathered to celebrate World International Women's Day 2022 with a relaxing yoga class facing the beautiful beach of Shangri-La Abu Dhabi. The refreshing breeze gave our ladies a fresh start of the day. The celebrations continued with fun games at the beach followed with delicious spread of food and drinks specially prepared and served by our male F&B and Culinary colleagues. Yes - CAN do! ""Westrivetodotheright thingfromtheheart,withintegrity,careandsustainability." SLAD and THAD family took part in the 26th Cycle of Can Collection Campaign organized by EEG (Emirates Environmental Group) which was a month long project to collect used aluminum cans which is recycled and reused. Our colleagues were able to collect and contribute a whooping 29 kg of aluminum cans for thisworthy cause. WewillcontinuetodogoodandlivebyourShangri-Lavaluesthatwillcontributefor thebettermentofourcommunityandourcolleagues.

Shangri-La and Traders Abu Dhabi family joined hands for this global movement by switching off exterior lights and dimming the lights in several areas within the hotel and in our colleague accommodations on Saturday, 26 March from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

OUR EXPO BUS Since the start of Dubai EXPO 2020 we organized tours for our colleagues to explore the pavilions and learn the core concepts on Sustainability, Vision and Mobility - which is the theme of DUBAI EXPO 2020. With the EXPO curtains coming down this month, it was time for our managers to visit the EXPO and we use this opportunity to bond and take their time out of their busy work schedule.

It was a fun filled day and the team not only managed to cover 8 pavilions but also checked out F&B concepts and experience new pavilions.

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT FIRST AID CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

With Covid-19 protocol and Shangri-La Care programme as part and parcel of our daily practices, SLAD and THAD keep its tract of continually providing first aid training - a valuable and life-saving course especially during this period. We maintain the objective to provide immediate attention to our sick or injured colleagues and guest alike. First aid training also helps prevent the situation from getting worse while waiting for full medical care.

BABYSITTING COURSE

To keep abreast and be ready for our visiting guests with children and babies, SLAD and THAD offered the Baby Sitting training and re- certification. help colleagues develop skills to keepsafe and behave with the our 'little sir and madame'. The course also provide basic first aid. The Babysitting course

BEACH AND POOL LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION PROGRAM The positive news from local authority of opening the outdoor activities and increased operating capacity has given our lifeguard team the energy and motivated to be ready and back to normal set-up. Pool and Beach Lifeguard certification and re-certification was conducted with the aim to prevent water-related risks and injuries across our swimming pools with the hotel, residence apartment and villas.

WORKING AT HEIGHTS, SCAFFOLDING, and WELDING TRAINING

The Environment, Healthy and Safety team of the hotel ensures that our hotel provides a safe working environment. Working at heights, scaffolding and welding training were just a few of the programs made at the hotel in compliance with the local authority.
