WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING TO

Wave Day has been organized on 19th January 2020 by SLAD Housekeeping Department with the theme "Chinese New Year" to recognize our hard working colleagues who ensure to exceed the expectations of our guests. Various games were conducted to make it more fun and interactive event. We also celebrated the birthday of our colleagues with the cake cutting & personalized greetings card. WAVE DAY

LUXURY IMMERSION PROGRAM

On 3rd February 2020 colleagues learned the evolution of luxury and how luxury is perceived now among our guests. They have also learned to customized the luxury experience for our guest based on the guests segment.

Posting learning online challenges on WhatsApp group such as Ted Talk Tuesday, Wellness Challenge & Self-Focus Challenge. Encouraging colleagues to complete many online courses on Shangri-La Academy to collect points & win exciting prizes!

BREAK THE CHAIN

Weekly videos on the importance of Social Distancing method to break the chain of Covid-19. Though it looks simple and easy to follow, experts say that not following this is one of the main reasons we are not

able to break the chain of spread.

FITNESS MONDAY

Every week we post one- minute video of our Fitness Monday series with our fitness trainer Ilori from Shangri-La health club. Showing us how to workout from home without going to the gym!

SAFETY AT WORK

Shangri-La Front Office team & Traders Housekeeping team taking us through the safety work practice measures they are implementing in both hotels. Thanks to both teams for sharing what they do at work to break the chain of COVID-19.

COVID-19: SAFETY & PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES IN COLLEAGUES ACCOMMODATION Disinfection & Sterilization program was implemented to ensure the safety of our colleagues and was conducted by Abu Dhabi disinfection company with the assistance of Housing & EHSMS Team.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 the management came up with the initiative to ensure colleagues safety. This includes meal packs distribution with the help of housing committee. Mask & gloves were also distributed and continues disinfection in common areas as well as putting social distancing marks in colleagues accommodation with the help of Housing Team. COVID-19: SAFETY & PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES IN COLLEAGUES ACCOMMODATION

SLAD & THAD ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

In celebration of 13th year anniversary of Shangri-La Hotel & 11th year anniversary of Traders Hotel. Human Resources Team came up for a FUN & HEALTHY activity that challenged our colleagues. "The Ultimate 10-Days 100,000 Steps Challenge" was launch on 1st August until 10th August 2020. We have total of 37 registered colleagues and total of 14 colleagues who successfully completed the challenge. After 10 Days we conducted a raffle draw for those colleagues who completed the 100,000 steps as additional reward for them.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS: STEPS UNIFIED CHALLENGE

“Your greatness is not what you have, it’s what you give” Shangri-La & Traders Hotel proudly participated to the amazing event by Special Olympics UAE! This is to celebrate a global movement that has been changing lives and attitude by working together as a unified group to reach a goal of 52 million steps over the course of 10 days. By reaching 52 million steps, Special Olympics will be giving 10 POD's (People of determination) clubs/centres training & sports equipment. This also includes 100 home training kits for special olympic UAE Atheletes.
