Chancellor Allison D. Garrett Chief Executive Officer, Oklahoma State System of Higher Education

Allison D. Garrett became chancellor of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education in November 2021 following a national search. Before assuming the role of chancellor, Garrett served as the 17th president of Emporia State University, which set retention, graduation rate and fundraising records during her tenure. While serving as ESU’s President, Garrett served on the NCAA’s Board of Governors and led the Division II Presidents’ Council. Prior to executive leadership positions in public and private higher education, she worked for more than a decade at the Walmart Stores, Inc. corporate offices, holding the positions of vice president and general counsel for the corporate division and vice president of benefits compliance and planning. In those roles, Garrett led the corporate-level legal services in a

wide range of areas including securities, mergers and acquisitions, tax, intellectual property, information technology and international law. She also led benefits plan design, open enrollment and compliance, as well as communications with Walmart’s workforce. Garrett holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Oklahoma Christian University, a juris doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law and a Master of Laws in securities regulation from Georgetown University.

Dr. Sean McDaniel Superintendent, Oklahoma City Public Schools With more than three decades of experience in education, Dr. Sean McDaniel was named superintendent of schools for Oklahoma City Public Schools in July 2018. McDaniel began his career in education as a language arts instructor at Denver’s Highland High School from 1986-1988. He has served in several teaching, coaching and administrative capacities in both Colorado and Oklahoma. A proud graduate of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Dr. McDaniel went on to earn his master's degree in educational administration from NSU and his doctorate in educational leadership from Oklahoma State University. This year marks his 36th year in education and his 20th as a district superintendent.

Dr. McDaniel is highly respected by his peers across the state and was named 2018 Oklahoma Superintendent of the Year by CCOSA. His knowledge and expertise are recognized at the state level, where he has served on the governor’s education advisory board, the state superintendent’s advisory council and on the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association’s board of directors.

Dr. Rick Cobb Superintendent, Mid-Del Public Schools

Dr. Rick Cobb is a life-long Oklahoman in his 30th year in education and eighth year as superintendent of Mid-Del Public Schools. Prior to 2015, he was an English teacher, volleyball coach, principal and assistant superintendent in districts such as Mustang, Medford and Moore. Dr. Cobb earned a B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma and a M.Ed. from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Professional honors Dr. Cobb has received include, the Medal for Excellence from the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, the State Superintendent Fine Arts Medal of Excellence, the Oklahoma Association of School Administrators District 7 Superintendent of the Year and the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at the University of Oklahoma Career Achievement Award.

Dr. Angela Grunewald Superintendent, Edmond Public Schools

Dr. Angela Grunewald is the first female superintendent in the district’s history. Grunewald began her career as an elementary teacher with Snyder Public Schools, before continuing in the classroom in El Reno and Leedey. She then joined Edmond Public Schools, serving as an assistant principal and principal. She then transitioned to district administration, serving Piedmont Public Schools and Mustang Public Schools before returning home to Edmond in 2016 as the executive director of elementary education. She was then elevated to associate superintendent for educational services and in June 2021, began her new role as superintendent of Edmond Schools. Grunewald received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and her master’s

degree in school leadership from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and her doctorate from Oklahoma State University. Grunewald has twice been named regional Assistant Superintendent of the Year by OASA. She served on the Oklahoma State Department of Education’s Wavier Writing Committee and assisted Canadian Valley Technology Center as an advisory board member. As a teacher, she was a National Board Certification Teacher Scholarship recipient and a building-level Teacher of the Year.

Dr. Robert Romines Superintendent, Moore Public Schools

Superintendent Robert Romines is a product of Moore Public Schools and the Moore Community. He was born and raised in Moore and came from a long line of educators. Dr. Romines began his career as a 5th-grade teacher. He then served as an assistant principal at Southgate/Rippetoe Elementary and later became the assistant principal at Winding Creek Elementary. In 2000, he became the head principal at Houchin Elementary and then Bonds Elementary. Dr. Romines later became the director of elementary education and then was selected as the assistant superintendent. In 2013, Dr. Romines became the superintendent of Moore Public Schools and serves in the position today. Dr. Romines received his Bachelor of Science in elementary education from the University

She has held various executive positions including her time at Chesapeake Energy Corporation and Oklahoma City Community Foundation.
