by Greg Kishbaugh

N ilpeter held an Open House,March 28,at its U.S.headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. Celebrating the centennial of its found- ing, the company welcomed more than 80 attendees to the event, which looked at the many changes affecting the packaging indus- try in what Nilpeter refers to as The Age of Automation . The company has made massive financial investments in its op- erations recently, resulting in a lights out facility with two fully automated machining centers.

The full program included three (Cont’d on Page 9) do, Florida. The show was held at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

“That allows us to do less with more,” said Paul Teachout,Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Nilpeter. The all-new FA, FB-350, and Panorama presses were demon- strated at the Open House. The FA press is, according to Nilpeter, designed for the modern, intuitive press operator. This approach eliminates previous manual controls; quick lock handles are replaced with touch screen con- trols, all printing unit covers can open individually or simultaneously Paul Teachout, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Nilpeter, explains the company’s clean hand technology at the Open House.

Nilpeter feels the increased technological advance- ments included in its presses will attract young, for- ward-thinking people to the converting industry, peo- ple who grew up with disruptive technology. “It will ultimately lead more young people to pur- sue the converting industry as a career,” Teachout told Flexo Market News last year before the FA press made its North American debut at Labelexpo Americas.“The age-old image of a printing press operator wearing an apron, covered in ink are still prevalent.
