Thank you for your interest in the Head of Capital Projects post at InHealth Group. InHealth is the UK’s largest specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We see more than 3 million patients each year, from over 850 locations across the UK that include our dedicated, standalone InHealth Diagnostic Centres, community and hospital sites and mobile units. Our flexible and dynamic approach helps our customers to meet some of their most pressing challenges. By providing safe, effective, responsive and caring services we aim to contribute to the healthcare economy of the UK and improve patient outcomes. The role of Head of Capital Projects is key to achieving InHealth’s ambitious estates strategy and as head of the department, you will oversee the management of the capital delivery team, with specific remit for providing project and programme leadership in the planning, design and delivery of state-of-the-art facilities, which allow the NHS to provide service access to patients in their own communities therefore eliminating the need for them to find the necessary capital to meet growing diagnostic demand. We are therefore seeking an individual with a proven track record in leading complex capital projects and programmes across a multi-site estate portfolio, with excellent stakeholder management skills and a proactive approach to team leadership. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to lead a team in the delivery of highly specialised healthcare facilities across a growing national portfolio. Diagnostic centres and community clinics We are committed to working with NHS Trusts and CCGs to meet the increasing pressures of demand and availability on healthcare services. Our purpose-built Diagnostic

Centres offer patients convenient, fast access to imaging services and increased imaging capacity for Trusts. Our centres are equipped with the latest scanning technology from major manufacturers including Siemens, GE, Philips and Toshiba along with specialist consulting rooms and patient areas. Our Community Health Clinics provide

state-of-the-art, patient centred local health services, managing patient care in out of hospital settings. They create the opportunity to provide greater access to tests, shorter waiting times and improved clinical outcomes for patients and offer modern, spacious surroundings.

NHS hospitals and clinics InHealth can provide fully managed services utilising existing NHS facilities and resources. In secondary care, we provide fully integrated managed imaging services to over 28 NHS Trusts bringing considerable experience, robust clinical processes, highly trained staff and cost effective solutions.

In all cases, we integrate seamlessly with other hospital services and operate to the very highest standards of quality and clinical excellence. We also provide Community Healthcare Services to GPs and CCGs from over 100 sites across the country, leading the way in the

delivery of direct to test community diagnostic services. We are AQP/LQP providers and combine electronic booking with patient choice of appointment with the NHS e Referral service.

Relocatable solutions InHealth’s relocatable units provide a semi-permanent extension of a hospital site and provide a bridge between mobile unit and permanent site which can be configured and easily delivered to the chosen location. Units can incorporate a waiting area and day room for patients as well as additional support facilities including wash basins and changing areas. Several NHS Trusts benefit from InHealth’s relocatable Cardiac Cath Lab solutions providing Day Case and In-Patient services. These fully staffed, purpose built units include a Catheterisation Lab. A 6 bed day ward is also available with patient monitoring, nursing station, refreshment area and toilets.

Mobile services Our fleet of mobile solutions puts advanced diagnostic capabilities within easy reach and can be established quickly, with minimal risk and low costs. All our units are equipped with modern, state-of-the-art equipment and trained clinical, operational and management staff are on hand to ensure rapid deployment and smooth day to day running of the service. They also have an independent power source and high-speed wireless connection, meaning they can provide a rapid reported solution from an off-site location. InHealth Mobile Services assist customers to flex capacity to match sometimes unpredictable demand, and remain an important option for many of our clinical services.

INVESTING IN UK HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS

Our strategy to continue to build on long-term partnerships with our customers and delivering the right solution for their needs. The pandemic has illustrated the importance of developing flexible healthcare solutions and we recognise many of the challenges currently facing healthcare in the UK and our solutions are tailored to offer access to capital for investment and the flexibility to adapt to changing demands as they emerge from region to region. Our forthcoming development plans will include an exciting capital strategy to support NHS England plans to set up a network of new “one-stop shops” where patients will be able to have scans closer to home rather than having to go hospital. These projects will range from £250k to £10m to ensure the realisation of our partners key priorities. With this in mind, we will need a well-resourced and high calibre capital projects team to lead the delivery of the projects.

HEAD OF CAPITAL PROJECTS

What will you do? • Lead on a variety of exciting renovations, adaptations and new builds across the country to help us deliver on our vision of making healthcare better for patients • Oversee the day to day management of several different projects from initial budgeting, through to design, equipment delivery and handover to the operational teams • Manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers directly to ensure they deliver cost-effective and efficient solutions within expected and agreed timescales • Provide technical expertise to Stakeholders through meetings and reporting, specifically with regard to risks, issues and compliance • Ensure that statutory, environmental, professional and technical standards are upheld across all of InHealth’s capital projects • Provide support in the remodelling, development, management, maintenance and cost-effective utilisation of space and building facilities across the InHealth’s property portfolio • Manage and a small team to deliver a broad range of projects, motivating and encouraging them to achieve success • Drive a continuous improvement mindset through design and implementation to improve patient flow, experience and overall service

What will you be responsible for? Tender Process and Briefing

• Providing leadership, support and guidance throughout the tendering process, offering technical expertise on costs, logistics and timescales so that we remain competitive • Managing the customer briefing process, ensuring relevant information is requested and recorded, allowing for a detailed design to be delivered within statutory requirements • Developing clear project plans for senior stakeholders and ensuring they are kept up to date throughout the delivery, communicating any risks, updates and analysis as required Project Design and Delivery • Lead the design and delivery process for new projects, collaborating with operational teams to achieve the optimum design and implementation to achieve the strategic aims. Monitoring and controlling all aspects of any assigned projects to ensure that cost effective, timely and appropriate solutions are developed to fulfil our customers’ requirements • Acting as the subject matter expert for all building and equipment related queries, offering concise technical support and advice on construction, design and delivery • Leading on the identification, purchase and delivery of any physical assets required for the project, for example: diagnostic imaging equipment, mobile trailer units etc. • Attending on-site meetings to ensure customers remain informed on the progress of the project and that contractors are adhering to any timescales as agreed • Driving operational efficiencies and implementing appropriate processes, safeguarding the positive development of projects on budget, on time and to a high degree of quality • Applying and implementing the appropriate project management methodologies and principles in line with PRINCE2 • Managing the handover process to Operations at the end of mobilisation, ensuring that all elements are recorded and reported as appropriate with regulatory clearances received

Leadership & Stakeholder Management • Acting as a leader at InHealth, living the company values and championing the organisation • Presenting feedback, updates and reports to the InHealth Senior Leadership team, engaging them on any progress, risks, issues or budgetary changes as required • Growing long-lasting, meaningful and effective relationships with customers, contractors and suppliers to assist with the delivery of any current and future capital projects • Working collaboratively with other teams and departments, providing direction where necessary, to ensure the completion of project objectives within budgetary aims and timescales • Taking part in regular meetings and update events to encourage engagement on projects, also communicating areas of risk and analysis as required People Management • Designing and delivering structured induction and training programmes for all new capital projects team members, including a review of the company’s policies and procedures • Leading on and being actively involved in all recruitment required within the capital projects team and workforce planning for future recruitment needs • Ensuring the annual appraisal process is completed on time and incorporates a personal development plan for each team member that promotes growth and progression • Maintaining up-to-date training, appraisal and PDP records for team members • Developing immediate team members by providing coaching and mentorship

You have experience of: • Leading capital projects in the healthcare sector from start through to completion across a multi-site and national estate portfolio • Costing projects on a whole and offering support and guidance during the tender process • Managing suppliers and contractors to ensure they deliver efficient services within agreed timescales and of a high calibre • Reading, interpreting and designing complex technical drawings • Managing and overseeing complex budgets relating to construction and installation • Building business and commercial relationships at different levels • Demonstrating improvements in designs and a track record of innovation
