Good Start in First Half 2018 I am pleased to report that DCD is off to a good start in the first half of 2018! We are close to budget, both on the top line and bottom line and as a result, I am cautiously optimistic about the remainder of the year. LNCA is facing some headwinds as we move into the second half of this year as you read about in John Selldorff’s email on 07/30. Overall, LNCA is doing very well from a sales perspective. However, due to recent global economic and policy issues, LNCA is facing pressure on the profit line. This is due to a combination of unfavorable foreign exchange rates, commodity price increases and unanticipated US tariffs on imports from China. QUARTERLY BUSINESS REVIEW
Welcome to the new DCD quarterly newsletter! This enhanced version is designed to improve all aspects of our communication to the entire division. Through this new format, employees can read the PDF version or access the online version through an interactive application called FlippingBook ™ that provides the look and feel of a hard copy newsletter. One significant change to this newsletter is that we are expanding the voices you hear from. You will now hear directly from the general managers of our key business units within DCD – Gary Hess, GM of Connectivity & Cable Assemblies (CCA) and Mike Mallia, GM of Cabinets and Containment (CAC). You will also hear from Judy Travers VP, HR covering the HR aspect of our organization. From time to time, you will also hear from other DCD executives including Finance, Sales and Operations. The idea is to dig deeper into the business while tying back to the overall strategy. This came through loud and clear as a request from employees in the engagement survey we conducted last summer. Using this approach, we can be more inclusive than what you were getting from our previous newsletter format. In a few weeks, we will send out a survey asking for your feedback on this communication and asking for your input into topics you would like to have covered in future editions. Please take the time to make your opinion heard! Stay tuned for the Q3 Newsletter which will be arriving in your inbox late October 2018. Our plan is to send the DCD newsletter out the month before each quarterly webcast. DCD NEWSLETTER REBOOT
