NAS Oceana Air Show 2022

The 2022 NAS Oceana Air Show is scheduled for September 16-18 and we’re pleased to announce that IT WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! The entire team is eager to once again open our doors and welcome aboard visitors from near and far to this Master Jet Base for the return of the Air Show. The Blue Angels will be making their first appearance at NAS Oceana since 2018, flying the demonstration in their brand new F/A-18 Super Hornets. We will also have the F/A-18 Super Hornet Tactical Demonstration, the USAF F-22 Raptor Tactical Demonstration, and we’re very pleased to announce the first-ever Oceana appearance of the Navy’s newest fighter, the F-35 Lightning II Tactical Demonstration. Our overall performer list is still under development but you can expect to see our signature Air Power Demonstration with Fleet Flyby, performances by local Navy squadrons, and world-class civilian performers like Mike Goulian, Skip Stewart, Matt Younkin, Bob Carlton, Jessey Panzer and the AFTERSHOCK Jet Firetruck. www.oceanaairshow.com Accolades bestowed upon the NAS Oceana Air Show include:

Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia, hosts its annual Air Show in September of each year, drawing more than 275,000 visitors from 25 states and 12 countries to make it the NAS Oceana Air Show & STEM

largest attended air show on the East Coast. The three- day event is recognized as the Navy’s largest open house in North America.

The NAS Oceana Air Show has forged a ground- breaking partnership with area schools as well as other local educational entities to create a one-of-a-kind “Outdoor STEM Laboratory” on an unprecedented scale. In 2019, over 8,000 fifth grade students from Virginia Beach and Chesapeake visited the NAS Oceana Air Show STEM Lab Learning Day, shattering the Guinness World Record for the largest educational field trip. STEM education is an interdisciplinary approach to learning where rigorous academic concepts are coupled with real-world lessons. Students apply science, technology, engineering and mathematics in contexts that make connections between school, community, work and the global enterprise enabling the development of STEM literacy and with it the ability to compete in the new economy.
