Executive Summary California leads the way in energy efficiency and environmental policy. In September 2020, Governor Gavin Newson signed an executive order requiring all new passenger cars and trucks sold in California be emission-free by 2035. In addition, the state has set an ambitious goal to install 250,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations by 2025. Public charging stations have become more common, but they aren’t always conveniently located or available — until now. Casco Design Studio is Southern California’s go-to partner for all your EV charging station needs. Our team of experts begin each engagement with a comprehensive location assessment, then quickly design and install the perfect charging station to fit your unique needs. We manage every step of the process from planning to permitting to plugging in. Building codes are constantly evolving to accommodate the ever-increasing demand for EV charging stations. Casco stays up-to-date on the latest codes and ensures all specific guidelines are adhered to, such as stall size and EV-station location requirements. We acquire all permits, interface directly with electrical engineers, design the site plan and source the best-in-class charging station(s) for each installation. Installing EV charging stations is a smart investment thanks to generous tax credits, rebates and in- centive programs (we’ll advise you about eligibility and funding options). And, the long-term return on investment is priceless. Installing EV stations is a clean, green choice for people and the planet. It also sends a positive brand message to your employees, clients and ultimately the community. Forbes reported that 87 percent of consumers have a more positive image of a company that supports social or environmental issues; and 88 percent are more likely to remain loyal to an eco-conscious company. We equip you with the expertise and resources to make EV charging part of a larger company-wide goal: Earning industry-recognized sustainability qualifications such as LEED certification, saving costs (EV company fleets grant access to government subsidy funds and tax benefits, including zero compa- ny car tax) or simply reducing carbon emissions. According to a U.S. Department of Energy survey, em- ployees are 20 times more likely to buy an electric vehicle if a free charge is offered at their workplace. Casco has been in the business of upgrading the workplace for more than 20 years. We are excited to help Southern California businesses embrace electric vehicles, improve our air quality and combat climate change.

Why EV Installing EV charging stations is a smart investment thanks to generous tax credits, rebates and incentive programs, and the long-term ROI is priceless. EV stations are a clean, green choice that send a positive brand message to employees, clients and the community. To remain competitive and continue to unlock value in the New Normal, companies must shift their focus from short-term financial gains to long-term value creation. This begins with the Triple Bottom Line - growing revenue and increasing value by focusing on profit, people and the planet.

Income Opportunities: Strategies
No Fee Charging is offered free to customers solely as an amenity. Value is derived from alternative sources such as increased sales or corporate branding. Nominal Fee to Cover Costs Fees are set high enough to recoup operational and/or installation costs and insulate the owner-operator form spikes in costs from increased utilization. Fees are typically set as a price per kilowatt-hour of electricity delivered, per unit of time, or per charging session. Profit Center The fee for charging is designed to turn a profit from the sale of charging services. Fees are typically set as a price per kilowatt-hour delivered, per unit of time, or per charging session.

Establish Your Authority as a Socially Conscious Brand Adding charging stations to your workplaces demonstrates that your business embraces technologies that make the planet a cleaner and safer place to live. This signals to employees, customers, and business partners that your business seeks to encourage environmentally responsible behavior and ultimately building trust by putting your valus in action. Demonstrate You Embrace Change There’s little doubt that EVs are the way of the future. As EV technology continues to evolve and improve, the market for EVs will only continue to growexponentially. According to BNEF: In 2018, 2 million EVs were sold globally, and that number is expected to reach 3 million units in 2020, 10 million units in 2025, and 28 million units in 2030 as the cost of production decreases.
By 2030, battery EVs are projected to represent 77% of all electric vehicles, meaning fast and reliable charging will be more important than ever.
As EV sales continue to increase, the sales volume of fuel vehicles is projected to nosedive by 2024.

Attract and Retain Top Talent In today’s exceptionally competitive job market, being socially conscious and creating an exceptional employee experience is imperative in attracting and retaining top talent. The 2016 Cone Communications Millennial Employee Engagement Study emphasized how cru- cial corporate sustainability mattered to them. Key takeaways include:
64% of millennials consider a company’s social and environmental commitments when deciding where to work
64% won’t take a job if a company doesn’t have strong corporate social responsibility (CSR) values
83% would be more loyal to a company that helps them contribute to social and environmental issues (vs. 70% U.S. average)
88% say their job is more fulfilling when they are provided opportunities to make a positive impact on a social and environmental issue
Installing charging stations not only shows you care but encourages your employees to be socially and environmentally conscious as well. Providing EV-driving employees with choice parking spots that are closer to the front of the building and allowing them the con- venience to charge their vehicle at work, becomes a reward for taking action.
This is just one of the many benefits of adding EV charging stations for your employees.

How EV Charging Benefits Your Sustainability Strategy If your sustainability strategydoesn’t include investments in electricvehicles and EVcharging infrastructure, it’s time to think about how these technologies will play in your company’s plan to reduce environmental impact. Even if you start with adding just a few charging sta- tions, the potential benefits are well worth it. These include:
Air pollutants contribute to air quality issues like smog and can cause health issues
Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) consist of CO2 and methane, which contribute to climate change
EVs, which have zero tailpipe emissions, produce far less well-to-wheel emissions compared to their gasoline or diesel running counterparts. The U.S. Department of Energy reports that on average, vehicles produce the following pounds of CO2-equivalent emissions annually:
Gasoline – 12K lbs. of CO2 Hybrid – 6K lbs. of CO2 Plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) – 5.9K lbs. of CO2 All electric (BEV) – 4.7K lbs. of CO2
11
Planet For companies with a lot of employees, emissions associated with employee commutes can add up quickly. These emissions fall under the Scope 3 category of the GHG Protocol and any reduction in those emissions can be included in an annual corporate sustainability report. Encouraging employees to give up their ICE vehicles and transition to EVs can make a serious difference in reducing the amount of Scope 3 emissions your company must re- port, and offering EV charging at the workplace can be one of the best ways to do so. CarMax and Clean Technica discovered that 72% of electric vehicle enthusiasts surveyed would be more likely to buy a plug-in electric vehicle if their employer offered charging stations. And smart charging features like Enel X’s e-mobility emission saving tool (currently available in Italy) can help you to easily quantify the cumulative savings to include in your annual report. Upgrading your workplace with EV infrastructure also aligns with California’s progressive approach to energy efficiency and environmental policy. In September 2020, Governor Gavin Newson signed an executive order requiring all new passenger cars and trucks sold in Cal- ifornia to be emission-free by 2035, and the state has an ambitious goal to install 250,000 electric vehicle charging stations by 2025.

Equipment Overview
Electric Vehicles: Basic EV concepts were designed before gasoline internal combustion engines. In the early 1900s, EVs outnumbered gas-fueled vehicles in the United States. Now, eco-savvy and bud- get-conscious Californians are selecting electric vehicles over traditional gas-powered cars in record numbers. Electric vehicles are powered by energy stored in a battery; they must be plugged into an electrical outlet to recharge. 1 2
All Electric Vehicles (AEVs) are powered 100 percent by energy stored in the battery system.
Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) operate solely on electric energy for a certain distance. When the battery loses power, an auxiliary internal combustion engine engages for additional miles.

Equipment Overview
Accessibility to EV charging is becoming increasingly important as more car companies manufacture electric cars and more consum- ers purchase them. Tesla, once the premier EV manufacturer, has new, more affordable competitors. Toyota, Volkswagen, Honda, Fiat Chrysler, Nissan, Volvo and General Motors all have electric vehicles on their assembly lines. Expanded options will attract new EV drivers; some may eventually step out of the sedan and into a truck or SUV built by Orange County’s luxury electric car maker Rivian. Investing in EV infrastructure can future-proof your business for market resiliency and mass appeal.
