WE DON’T TALK ABOUT BRUNO! One of our little patrons had a BLAST seeing Casita Chiquita from Fancyful Fairytales! They sang, danced, and read stories this summer!

2022 PR Xchange Winners
The Saline County Library is one of 24 libraries in North America to win the 2022 digital PR Xchange Award.
Mark Aaron Polger, Library Marketer and Co-Chair of the PR Xchange Awards, presents the awards at ALA.
Each of the 24 libraries were recognized at the 2022 PR Xchange event hosted at the American Library Association’s annual conference in Washington D.C. on June 26th. Marketing Coordinator, Jordan Reynolds, and Library Manager, Leigh Espey, were in attendance to receive the award.
The Saline County Library submitted their design for the 2022-2025 Strategic Plan, which was a culmination of the library’s vision for the next three years. The key goals for the plan are to improve the collection, space, programming, outreach, inclusion, and opportunity. In 2021, the library formed a Strategic Planning Committee that included Espey, Library Manager; Patty Hector, Library Director; Rebecca Kidder, Branch Manager; Kari Lapp, Community Engagement Manager; Sarah Beth Lesko, former Youth Services Manager; Janine Miller, former Library Manager; Heather Phipps, HR Manager; Reynolds, Marketing Coordinator, and Julie Syler, Systems Administrator.
Library Manager, Leigh Espey, and Marketing Coordinator, Jordan Reynolds, receive PR Xchange Award.
Thank you for being a friend!
The Friends of the Library are a dedicated group of volunteers who raise money to donate to the library. In February 2019, they opened a Used Book Store at the Benton branch which is open any time the library is open, and closes 30 minutes before the library closes. Visitors can browse the Used Book Store and bring their items upstairs to pay. You can also browse the Bryant Used Book Store section for a variety of materials. The Friends of the Library are always taking applications for new Friends! Fill out a form online or visit either branch to fill out a form in person. They also take donations of gently-used books, DVDs, video games, and more at both branches. Visit our website for information on donations they do not accept.
Meet the Staff Bella, Outreach Coordinator If you had one superpower, what would it be? To teleport. What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time? Play Wii Sports with my boyfriend. What is the strangest talent you have? None Are you a cat person or a dog person (or other)? Dog person!
Bella is the Outreach Coordinator.
You may see her at events around the community with the library table, at a parade, visiting a community center around Saline County, attending a Farmer’s Market, or visiting patrons wherever she can. She is also helping establish our first ever Seed Library through outreach and programming for all ages. You may find her tending to the vegetable garden near the Nature Play Space at the Benton location. Bella enjoys gardening and learning about all of the plants she can get her hands on. She has been growing her already expansive collection of succulents and house plants for a few years now and has no plans
to stop. She adores her three Chihuahua babies, taking them for walks, spending time with family, listening to her absolute favorite podcast (Sinisterhood) and hunkering down for her current show obsession.
