SHANGRI-LA KNOWLEDGE CHALLENGE Colleagues at SLAD & THAD competing to win in Shangri-La Knowledge (Online Quiz & Face-to-Face Challenge). Questions were asked about Shangri-La Culture, Shangri-La Brand, and SLAD & THAD Product & Services. Colleagues participated in 3 different online quizzes, three days in a row. 3 participants from each department as a team competed in See & Tell, Burning Questions, Shang Family Feud, and Menti quiz.
Colleagues refreshed their minds on Shangri-La Knowledge, had fun, and won prizes!

The 2021 Desertification and Drought Day was held on 17 June 2021. The aim was to achieve the goal to demonstrate that investing in healthy land as part of a green recovery is a smart economic decision – not just in terms of creating jobs and rebuilding livelihoods, but in terms of insulating economies against future crises caused by climate change and nature loss, and in accelerating progress on all 17 Sustainable Development Goals as we recover from COVID-19. As a dedicated UNCCD accredited organisation, EEG and our SLAD & THAD colleagues collaborated our efforts to convey this valuable message. RECYCLE.REFOREST.REPEAT.
Our aim was to collect 1000kg of used paper, cardboard boxes, shredded paper that was found around our offices and work stations. with the efforts of our SLAD and THAD colleagues we were able to achieve this target in due time. It was a great event to see our colleagues work towards a worthy cause. RECYCLE.REFOREST.REPEAT.
COVID-19 BOOSTER VACCINE PROGRAM
With the guidance and implementation of the UAE government SLAD & THAD colleagues had the excellent opportunity of being part of receiving the Covid-19 Booster Vaccine to help prevent the spread and fight this pandemic. Colleagues who successfully completed six months upon receiving their second dose of Covid-19 vaccine were eligible to receive this vaccine. The Covid-19 Booster Vaccine drive took place on the 16th and 17th of August 2021 facilitated by Reem Hospital Abu Dhabi. A total of 187 SLAD & THAD colleagues received their booster vaccine on these two days. We would always appreciate the initiative and support by the management and our colleagues to help combat this pandemic.
COVID-19 MASS VACCINATION PROGRAM
SLAD & THAD family is proud to announce that 95% of our colleagues have received both doses of Covid-19 vaccine as one of the measures to prevent the spread and fight against this pandemic. Our 3rd successful Mass Vaccination drive was facilitated by Reem Hospital Abu Dhabi on the 5th & 29th July 2021. We value the Safety and Good Health of our dear colleagues, and we will continue to incorporate and follow the utmost safety protocols to keep our colleagues safe and healthy. We take this opportunity to thank our management team and Reem Hospital Abu Dhabi for giving us the opportunity to receive the vaccine in the convenience of our own hotel. We thank all our colleagues for being responsible and supportive of breaking the chain..
INTERNATIONAL HOUSEKEEPING WEEK SEPTEMBER 12-18 2021 “United in health, unified at heart”
A week of appreciation on our hotel modern heroes, who play important role to fight these pandemic by maintaining a highest standard of sanitation to provide spotless and hygienic place for our guest.

NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATIONS
Our SLAD & THAD family celebrated the National Days of France, Egypt, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Ukraine, Tajikistan & Nepal in the months of July, August & September respectively. The Covid restrictions did limit us for bigger gatherings but we managed to celebrate our colleagues' different cultures by hosting cake cutting in our colleague cafeteria during lunch breaks. Our diverse colleagues make our family more colorful and unique and it is great to see all of us working with happy faces.

Our Traders F&B team, creates very own lovely personalised cards to celebrate special moments of their guests. Headed by Fitria who handmakes all the cards together with her lovely team at breakfast, which they give to guests during their special occasions. Many guests and even colleagues appreciate this creative gesture of creating memorable experiences.

A wedding is always a beautiful & sacred ceremony. It is always beautiful to witness and celebrate our colleagues' special moments and milestones.
