DINING & SOCIAL

JANUARY FOOD & BEVERAGE In January, no indoor F&B service will be provided until the requirement for “same household seating” has been lifted. We are hopeful that this will happen sooner rather than later so we can resume normal services. In the meantime, we will continue to focus on providing the best “curbside service” in the area. Your support of this offering has remained strong all year and we anticipate that it will continue. As a reminder, curbside take out procedures will operate very similarly to before. We will have one take out menu offering your favorite items from the Tavern & Grille and Café 1901. Take out phone lines (302-655-6171 ext. 1427) will be staffed beginning at 2:30 p.m. and orders can be picked up starting at 4:30 p.m. As always, no need to come in, we will bring everything right to your car. BMWCHAMPIONSHIP MERCHANDISE MEMBER SHOP RULES QUIZ Question : A player has knowledge or virtual certainty that his or her ball is in a red penalty area. The player decides to take relief under the lateral relief option of the penalty area relief Rule (17.1d(3)), speculates where the original ball last crossed the edge of the area and drops a ball within two club-lengths from that point. After the ball is dropped, but before the player makes his or her next stroke, another player says that the original ball last crossed the edge 20 yards closer to the hole than where the ball was dropped. The player finds the original ball in the area where the other player said it would be. What is the ruling? Answer : The player may abandon the dropped ball and must correctly take relief using the same Rule and any allowed relief option with respect to the correct reference point. Rule 17.1d(3); Rule 14.5a; Rule 14.5b(2) Staff. Call the Golf Shop for details. GOLF COACHING TIP OF THE WEEK

A NOTE FROM GROUNDS

GOLF SHOP

Dear Members,

Monday & Tuesday :

Our staff will put the finishing touches to the irrigation alterations on the new fairway bunker on 8 South. When architect, Andrew Green, returns this week, he will approve the bunker surrounds and flooring, then McDonald and Sons will proceed with drainage, sand install and finally sodding.

Closed

Wednesday - Sunday :

8:30 am - 5:00 pm

BAG ROOM

Steady work continued on 14 South last week, with completion of sodding the new approach and fairway at the dogleg. Some work on the periphery remains, mostly associated with sodding rough areas. While this was being attended to, the construction company continued with drainage within the fairway bunkers on 12 South. The weather forecast at the moment looks favorable to plant sod on this golf hole later this week. With the end in sight on #12, heavy machinery moved to the fairway bunker complex between 5 and 16.
