Dr. Gayla Lutts Superintendent/CEO, Canadian Valley Technology Center
Dr. Gayla Lutts is the superintendent of Canadian Valley Technology Center. Her career began in 1991 as a family and consumer sciences teacher at Del City High School. In 1997, Dr. Lutts moved to the Yukon Public School district. In 1999, Dr. Lutts began her tenure at Canadian Valley Technology Center. She joined CV Tech’s administration in 2009 after completing her master’s degree. Dr. Lutts was named deputy superintendent in January 2016. In July 2018, she completed her doctoral degree in educational leadership and officially became the first female Superintendent of Canadian Valley Technology Center in August. Rick Mendenhall Chief Operations Officer, Mid-Del Technology Center Rick Mendenhall has over 30 years of experience as a professional educator. He joined the Mid-Del School District in 1991 and has held various administrative positions, including assistant principal, principal, director and chief human resources officer. In 2017, Mendenhall became chief operations officer of Mid-Del Technology Center. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a master’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Mendenhall is active in the Mid-Del community and currently serves on the board of directors for both the Midwest City and Del City Chamber. Brian Ruttman Superintendent/CEO, Moore Norman Technology Center Brian Ruttman is the superintendent and CEO of Moore Norman Technology Center in Norman. Ruttman’s service to the Oklahoma CareerTech system began in 2003 at Metro Technology Centers in Oklahoma City here he served as chief officer, executive officer and associate superintendent. Ruttman is active in economic development efforts in the Moore, Norman, south and Greater OKC area. He has served on the executive board of the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the board of directors of the Norman Economic Development Coalition. Brian is a UCO graduate, earning his master’s degree in adult education and training in 2003. Tanner Smith Training Specialist, ATC Drivetrain Originally from Lawton, Okla., Tanner received his bachelor’s degree in social studies education in 2010 from Cameron University. Upon graduation, he went to teach and coach for Oklahoma City Public Schools until 2013. He then went to work as a cementing supervisor for Haliburton, where he was able to leverage his education experience to transition into a position in the training department until December 2019. He has been with ATC Drivetrain since January 2020 serving as a training specialist responsible for all training among three Oklahoma City facilities.
