1 . WHAT’S NEW AT SHANGRI-LA ACADEMY ONLINE?

Our 3 Core Learning Courses as per BSC are ALREADY AVAILABLE AT SHANGRI-LA ACADEMY ONLINE. All are available in 12 languages. Don’t wait up and let’s complete them before 31 October 2020. THREE BSC CORE LEARNING COURSES

1. SHANGRI-LA FOOD SAFETY ORIENTATION 2020 (SFS):

Food & Beverages is a big part of our business. It is everyone’s responsibility to learn about our Shangri-La food Safety Programme, to provide our guests with the confidence that our meals are always of the highest quality,

2.GLOBAL SECURITY ORIENTATION 2020 The safety and security of our guests is our priority. This course allows our colleagues to learn Shangri- La’s security principles by clarifying roles & responsibilities and providing specific instructions of actions to follow in case of a crisis.

Compulsory for all hotel and non- hotel colleagues by October 31 st .

3. GLOBAL FIRE & LIFE SAFETY ORIENTATION 2020 One can never know how and when a fire incident can happen; but it is important to be prepared to know what to do in such cases. This course equips you with the basics of Fire & Life Safety, different types of systems and fire emergency response procedures. Compulsory for all hotel and non-hotel colleagues by October 31 st .

4. UNDERSTANDING SELLER DEVELOPMENT:

At Shangri-La we are committed to providing our Sellers with opportunities to grow and develop; to become the best they can be. This course explores how sellers’ development is facilitated at Shangri-La and how Sales Leaders support this development process. This course is part of the Sales Functional Learning Framework and targeted audience should complete it by December 31 st .

5. LIVE JEN:

This Service Culture program for Jen Talents is designed to help you understand what Jen is about, through a fun exploration of Jen’s : ▪ Aspects of the brand Personality (V.I.P.S.): Vibrant, Inclusive, Progressive and Sophisticated. ▪ Our tone of voice and how we speak. ▪ Our behaviours and we interact with one another. We encourage all colleagues to take this course even if they don’t work at a Jen by Shangri-La Hotel, as it will assist you increase your awareness about the Jen brand.

Jen talents, please complete this course by December 31 st .

6. HOW TO DEAL WITH MEDIA:

A well-managed media relations and communications approach can help achieve our business goals and uphold the reputation and professional image of the Shangri-La Group among our various stakeholders. How we respond to the media and general public is also as important. This course focuses on how to deal with Media in different scenarios and outlines the best way to handle media requests properly by following some key media principles. This course is open to all colleagues for Self-Enroll.

7. The Art of Chinese Tea - Intermediate:

As the old saying goes, “Tea is the elixir of life. ”

What differentiates Shangri-La from other tea brands is our ability to leverage our true Asian roots. This course aims to enhance awareness and knowledge of Chinese teas amongst our Food & Beverages colleagues. This course is mandatory for Level 3, 4 & 5 colleagues of Chinese Restaurant and Lobby Lounge, and it should be completed by October 31 st . It is also highly recommended for Horizon Club colleagues and all tea enthusiasts.

This course has been recently launched and is now available in both Turkish and Simplified Chinese. This course is part of Compulsory Functional Courses for the Front Office teams. Please complete this by August 31 st . 7. Security Awareness for Rooms:

ROOMS HYGINE AND DISINFECTION (RHD) CERTIFICATION

In preparation to ensure the highest safety & hygiene standards in our hotels, the Corporate Rooms team in collaboration with the Shangri-La Academy have launched the RHD program; a new initiative to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation in our hotels. This is a blended learning course aiming to equip our Housekeeping team with necessary skills to implement new SOPs related to COVID19 prevention.

Course Journey:

The certification includes the following components: • Train-The-Trainer Virtual Learning Sessions for DOHK or EHK with a Post Learning Assessment. • Face-To – Face Facilitation to HK colleagues by DOHK / EHK and Diversey facilitators with post learning assessments. • Operation Observation by L&D Managers: Minimum 20% of learners need to be assessed by L&D team.

Shangri-La Cares Our Health and Safety Commitment

The Shangri-La Group has launched the Shangri-La Cares initiative which aims to introduce and maintain new standards of safety for the prevention of COVID19 in the multiple guest and colleagues touch points.

Enhanced SOPs have been developed by the functional global leaders and the Shangri-La Cares program covers multiple actions on the areas displayed below.

To support the successful implementation of Shangri-La Cares, an E-Learning module has been created covering all the standards in a video-based format.

This module will be launched in early July in English and with the support from the Regional AVPs L&D will be translated to required languages. All hotel colleagues will be expected to complete this module to clearly understand: what are we doing at Shangri-La to ensure the highest safety?!
