Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the 3rd and 4th Quarter Edition of the Shoo Fee Ma Fee Newsletter 2020 issue.
Before 2020 ends, I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to each one of you in the complex for being part of such a wonderful and caring family. As you may be aware, we faced and experienced a very challenging year but because we were all equipped with the right attitude, passion, dedication and perseverance at work we were able to sail towards the end of the year and I am so proud and thankful to have each one of you on the team. We helped, supported and lifted each other up as we encountered the most difficult time of the last quarters; we showed that indeed we are ‘One Family’ as we displayed caring and understanding of one another. Moving forward, let us prepare ourselves for 2021, bringing with us all the lessons we’ve learnt and the reasons that made us stronger. Let us continue to give our best and anticipate a better year. With this, I wish everyone a prosperous, healthy, successful and productive 2021.

Our colleagues went through 5 days of Lifeguard training and they are ready to ensure the safety of our guests as it is our first priority . This training includes , preparation , health and safety in pool and beach environment and how to respond during emergency situations in swimming environment .
Certificate holders will acquire a profound
knowledge of pool and beach operations and will be able to confidently perform CPR , first aid and aquatic rescue skills .

Our colleagues go through one day of Essential Food Safety Training to ensure the health and safety of our guest . Essential Food Safety Training is a program developed by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority . It requires all food handlers to gain a knowledge and understanding that will help to ensure food is handled in a safe way throughout food preparation chain . The training includes the four essential pillars for safe food handling on how to avoid cross contamination & how to cook clean and chill safely .

Our colleagues went through one day of virtual training and by completing this training our colleagues now have the necessary knowledge on “ working in confined spaces ”. This training covers the control of and entry into confined spaces , for personnel required to enter a confined space in the workplace . C ON F I N E D S P A C E - O S HAD

Our colleagues went through one day of virtual training and they have learned all types of scaffolds : selecting , erecting and dismantling . This Training ensure scaffolding is adequate for the work to be performed and properly erected and dismantled .
WOR K I NG A T H E I GH T S – O S HAD
Our colleagues went through one day of virtual training , ensuring their safety and our guest safety . This code of practice is designed to incorporate requirements set by Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Center ( OSHAD ) and Sector Regulatory Authorities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi . This training covers the requirements relevant to the planning , preparation and conduct of health and safety work practices in connection with working at heights .

In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of “ Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy ” they hosted a virtual walking event with the aim to achieve 10 million steps in 10 days promoting healthy lifestyle from 1st - 10th October 2020. Our SLAD & THAD colleagues participated the event & Mr . Shinob from housekeeping department won some of their prizes .

In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month , SLAD & THAD colleagues participated the event organized by “ Pure Heart for Cancer ” through walking , running , swimming , cycling or all 4 to reach the goal of 365kms from 1st - 31st October 2020.

Promoting a healthy lifestyle . Dubai Tourism & Dubai Sports Council organized a 30 days Fitness Challenge for 30 minutes a day . SLAD & THAD colleagues did not miss the chance to participate in this event from 30th October to 28th November 2020.
